The SETsquared Business Incubation Centre? which has been based on Highfield Campus for the last seven years? last week moved to the University of 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载 Science Park.
By moving to the Science Park? the Incubator will be able to extend its links with local businesses and be closer to the high–tech cluster of companies already based there.
The Science Park will also offer a flexible base for the SETsquared companies? giving them a range of 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载 options as they grow.
The programme has supported 30 successful companies, who in the first half of 2010 alone, have raised ?8.5 million investment.
These include Ilika, a University spin-out company which recently floated on the Alternative Investment Market (AiM) and PrimerDesign who in 2009 were the first company globally to develop a swine flu DNA testing kit.
The Business Incubator provides a range of services to help high-tech, start-up businesses (both those which are started by University academics and external companies) to grow into successful businesses, these include:
- business planning advice
- quarterly business review panels
- market and customer identification
- access to other entrepreneurs, academic experts and business mentors
- annual investor showcase held in London (Westminster)
- regular business networking events
- seminars such as ‘roles and responsibilities of directors’
- an investor readiness programme
