Curriculum Innovation Module Fair, Thursday 20 October, Hartley Suite, dedicated staff hour 9-10am

The Curriculum Innovation team are holding an event to promote new module opportunities for some students in the Faculties of Humanities and Social and Human Sciences –?come along to the dedicated staff hour 9–10am? Thursday 20 October in the Hartley Suite? to find out more.

If you can’t make it at that time? you will be welcome to come along later in the day and have a look around, although module designers will be mostly talking to students and answering their questions during the main part of the day.

Semester 2 this year will see some students from the Faculties of Humanities and Social and Human Sciences embarking on newly-designed modules, language modules and some existing modules which have been opened up more widely. At the event they will be given information about what would be involved and the attributes they will gain from taking these modules.

During the first hour of the day, members of staff will also be able to meet with module designers to ask them questions about what they will be offering to students. They can also discuss the process of designing modules through the Curriculum Innovation Programme.

The modules on offer this year form the first phase of opening up our curriculum more widely. Peter Smith, Associate Dean (Education and the Student Experience), will shortly be contacting academics around the university to encourage others to offer interdisciplinary modules to a wider range of students next academic year. If this is something you might be interested in doing next year, come along to the Module Fair to find out more.
