Philosophy Café: “Is Morality Objective?” with Jonathan Wray – Thursday 3 November, 1-2pm – John Hansard Gallery

Seeking food for thought in your lunch hour? Join us for the latest free? informal discussion at the Gallery? open to all? presented in partnership with Philosophy at the University of 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载.

It is often suggested that morality is merely subjective or relative: some point to the amount of disagreement over moral matters? while others claim that objective moral values would be mysterious entities, incompatible with the natural world as we know it. But when we are faced with a difficult ethical choice, it is very hard to believe that what is right or wrong just depends on what we or our society happens to approve of. So do we have reason to think morality subjective? Or can we make sense of an objective morality? No booking required, but admission on a first come, first served basis until we reach capacity! Whilst you’re at the Gallery, make sure you also check out the latest exhibition, Manufacture 2.
