We’re delighted to?welcome the appointment of Professor Graham Reed who is acknowledged?as a pioneer in silicon photonics and the initiator of the research?field in the UK.

Graham and his team have moved the group’s base?to the University, where they will be using many of the?excellent state-of-the-art facilities on offer in the new Mountbatten?Institute.

We are particularly looking forward?to using the new fabrication facilities in the clean room complex, as?well as the superb photonics laboratories,” said Graham.

“天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载 work will also complement the silicon work that was already?being carried out by the Nano group in Electronics and Computer?Science (ECS).

“We knew there were so many world-class researchers in the ORC and?ECS in 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载 but there are even more excellent people and?equipment here than we expected. The atmosphere is so positive and?there is an air of expectation and success. It is great to be part of?such an environment.

“As a group we are excited about the prospect of doing even more?good work than we have done before and working with our new?colleagues to engage in a wider array of projects.

Graham is regularly invited to contribute to major silicon photonics?conferences around the world. He has served on and chaired numerous?international conference committees and published more than 250?papers in the field of silicon photonics.
