Each year the University welcomes visitors from across the globe, and over the last few months we have had visits from international partners and fellow academics.
In May, the University hosted a large delegation from fellow Worldwide Universities Network member, Zhejiang?University (ZJU), China.? Ranked 3rd?in China, Zhejiang?University senior staff met with colleagues in Medicine, FEE, Humanities and NOCS?to discuss collaborations in research, education and enterprise.? The discussions throughout the day highlighted specific areas of common interest including maritime engineering, coastal and environmental sciences, translational research and technology transfer.? The visit culminated in the signing of a three-way?memorandum of understanding?between the University, ZJU?and NOCS.
Other visits included one from delegates from Purdue University, USA, one of the highest ranking engineering programmes in the USA.? The delegates?who met with Engineering and ECS colleagues shared their?interest in an exchange programme with us.
The University also welcomed colleagues from Taipei Medical University (TMU), Taiwan in June.? According to the QS World Rankings, TMU?is in the top 100 global medical schools and interested in liaising with our Faculty of Medicine in various research areas.
Finally, following a visit to Qatar earlier in the year from senior management, Hamad Bin Khalifa University met with senior staff across the University to discuss links in Health Sciences and the creation of a maritime academy.
