The University welcomes highest number of Chevening Scholars

This year the University has received a record number of Chevening Scholars who will be studying a wide range of Masters programmes across six Faculties.

Chevening Scholars

A total of twenty-seven scholars have enrolled from twenty-two different countries. This is the first year that the University has also offered a designated 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载 Chevening Partnership Scholarship, which was awarded to Susan Chiwenda.

The scholars were welcomed by Jo Doyle, Director of Student Recruitment and International Relations, who commented,

“Chevening Scholars are selected not only on the basis of their academic ability but also on their potential to become future leaders and ambassadors for the UK when they return to their home countries.

We are delighted to welcome so many scholars to 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载 this year.? We look forward to following their progress while they are with us and in their future careers.”

The event was also attended by Professor David Wilson, Associate Dean (Medicine), who sat on the Partnership Award selection panel, and Frankie Clarke, Programme Officer at the Chevening Secretariat.

Chevening Scholarships are the UK Government’s highly regarded scholarship scheme which funds international students to study a Masters programme in the UK.
