The Vice-Chancellor,?Professor Sir Christopher Snowden has given his second all-staff address since he joined the University last October.
Addressing more than one thousand?members of staff, some of whom attended?the event on Highfield campus?with many?others?joining?remotely by?live stream, Sir Christopher?focused on the progress?we?have?made?since our new strategy was launched.
He outlined?progress against all four of our principles: collegiality, quality, sustainability and internationalisation and?said that our?business planning process was now?aligned to our new strategy.
Announcing the appointment of Professor Colin Grant, as the?new?Vice-President (International), Sir Christopher said that the work to reshape?his leadership team was now complete and he was looking forward to focusing on successfully delivering the strategy.

Sir Christopher said?he was pleased?with?the?response?to the Staff Engagement Survey.?The final participation?rate today is 68 per cent, that’s?14 per cent?up from the last survey in 2014. He emphasised the?importance of giving feedback?so the University could continue to make improvements which will enhance?quality and collegiality.
He closed the meeting by saying his?next address will be in the autumn when he will share?details about?funding our changes, the response to the staff survey and an overview of the plan for the next ten years.
