Up and coming University talent in ‘Seeds for the Future’ video

Seven of our students feature?in a new video about the 2017 Seeds for the Future Programme which is?run by Chinese technology firm, Huawei.

The?elite internship programme started in collaboration with the University?in 2011 when only three students were invited to go to China.

Since that time, the scheme has grown and has been rolled out to other?universities.?There are still limited places and we are the only University to have been successful in securing seven places for the last three consecutive years.

The programme offers the most amazing opportunity for STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) undergraduate students to spend four weeks in China in the summer. Students must be UK passport holders.

Students have an opportunity to learn basic Mandarin,?tour?some of China’s most famous attractions, such as the Great Wall and The Forbidden City. They also visit the Huawei headquarters in Schenzhen, take some technical training and have a trip to their F1 Exhibition Centre and Research and Development laboratories.
