Works to replace the?steps which lead from the southwest corner of?Highfield campus to Lovers Walk on the Common will start on?Monday 26 February.

The improvements will?provide a safer, easier to use and more attractive route for pedestrians to and from this corner of the campus.

The steps will be widened and an illuminated central handrail provided. Troughs will be provided on either side of the steps to allow cycles to be wheeled up or down.

In order to complete the scheme safely, the?route will be closed?for eight?weeks?from?Monday 5 March.

A diversion route for pedestrians will be signed via Chamberlain Road, Hawthorn Road and Oakhurst Road during the closure period.
