Further to my update on Monday, I wanted to let you know that national Universities UK (UUK) and University and College Union (UCU) representatives met yesterday (Tuesday 28 February) and agreed to further talks, which will start on Monday 5 March.

Both parties recognised the significant distance between both sides, and have asked the conciliation service Acas to help mediate the talks. UUK asked UCU, in the interest of students, to stop the industrial action while talks continue. UCU has currently indicated that the strike remains on.
