A significant upgrade to the wireless service throughout Building 2 has now been completed. In addition to extensive coverage throughout the building, service performance has been improved and assured.

By?providing?a high quality wireless service in areas of the building which are particularly popular among students,?this upgrade will?provide an?improved student experience.

In addition to increased coverage, this upgrade?will improve?performance and deliver support for the highest traffic areas, ensuring fast, reliable access to ‘Eduroam’ and ‘WiFi_Guest’ services, even at busy times.

This upgrade forms part of the University’s Network Architecture Programme delivering significant improvements to the staff and student experience through the implementation of:

• new Fibre Optic network
• a very high capacity core network
• enhanced wireless network
• faster and more resilient network connectivity to University sites
