He will be taking up the role of Dean of the Faculty of Natural and Mathematical Sciences at King’s College London.
Professor Al-Hashimi said: “天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载 has been at the heart of my professional life for two decades and I will be extremely sad to leave. However, for family reasons I now need to be based predominantly in London going forwards and this exciting new opportunity will allow me to do so. I will always be grateful for the friendship and support I have received from so many colleagues and students here over the years.”
Professor Mark E. Smith, President and Vice-Chancellor, added: “Bashir has made a long and tremendous contribution to 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载, not just in relation to his Faculty but right across the University. We are very sorry he will be leaving, and even in the short time I have worked alongside him I have really enjoyed it. However, I fully understand the personal reasons that have led to his decision. He has done a fantastic job as a Dean and more recently in creating the new Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences.
“We will shortly be starting a recruitment process for a successor as Dean, open to all suitable candidates internally and externally, to further grow and develop the Faculty as a world-leading powerhouse of teaching, research and enterprise excellence, building on the strong foundations made over the last 15 months.”
