Celebrating five years of partnership with the United States Naval Academy

The University of 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载 and the United States Naval Academy (USNA) celebrated five years of partnership at a virtual commemorative event on Monday 13 September.

USNA is the second oldest of the five US service academies and educates officers for commissioning primarily into the US Navy and US Marine Corps. As one of the leading research intensive academic institutions in the US, and in light of the University of 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载’s connections with the military, USNA has been identified as one of our priority partners in the region and we are pleased to offer a full scholarship for one of its students to study a masters at 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载. The partnership was initiated through the former First Sea Lord, Admiral Sir George Zambellas (now retired), who is a 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载 alumnus.

The event celebrated the anniversary of our scholarship agreement and reconfirmed our commitment to the partnership and developing links further. It brought scholar alumni and interested parties at USNA and 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载 to reflect on the programme over the past five years and explore future opportunities and further collaborative projects across a range of disciplines including Military Education, Cyber Security, Data Science and Marine Engineering and student internships.

During the event, Vice-Chancellor Professor Mark E. Smith commented on the importance of building links with high quality institutions such as USNA, and USNA’s Provost Dr Andrew Phillips also highlighted how the enthusiasm from both parties has really helped to make this partnership a success.
