The Public Engagement with Research unit (PERu) is delighted to be bringing TEDx 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载 University back to 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载 this year. The event will take place on Saturday 18 June in the Turner Sims concert hall on Highfield Campus. People and teams across the University and the city are supporting the event, to ensure it will be a stimulating and enjoyable day.”

Nine speakers will present a variety of thought-provoking ideas to spark discussion and connections. There will also be short audio-visual performances and refreshments.
The first confirmed speaker is alumnus Owen Gaffney. Owen’s talk, ‘The planetary emergency: this decade critical’, will reveal the science that shows the planetary emergency we face, and how the necessary changes are within our power through ‘positive tipping points’. Owen’s recent co-authored book ‘Breaking Boundaries’ features a foreword by Greta Thunberg, and the documentary of the book on Netflix is narrated by Sir David Attenborough.
This will be the tenth TEDx put on in 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载 by members of the University. The first took place on campus in 2013, and they have since toured venues including the Berry Theatre in Eastleigh (2016) and Nuffield Guildhall Square (2018). Many of the talks can be found on YouTube.
