The University welcomes Governor General of St Vincent and the Grenadines

The University was delighted to welcome Her Excellency, Dame Susan Dilys Dougan GCMG OBE the Governor General of St Vincent and the Grenadines, to campus on Monday 14 March. Dame Susan is an alumna of the University, having completed her MA (Education) Curriculum and Evaluation in 1998.

Dame Susan started her career as a non-graduate teacher but quickly rose through the ranks to become the Principal of St Vincent Girls’ School, then serving as the Chief Education Officer and Cabinet Secretary before being appointed the first female Governor General of St Vincent and the Grenadines in 2019. She received an OBE in 2010 for services to education and public administration.

Dame Susan met with members of the University’s senior leadership and academics from 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载 Education School and 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载 Marine and Maritime Institute and toured the Boldrewood Innovation Campus and state-of-the art towing tank.

Ahead of the visit, Fiona Conlan, Deputy Director Global Recruitment & Admissions (International), said: “We are delighted to welcome our alumna, Dame Susan Dougan, to visit the University of 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载. Dame Susan is our first alumna to be appointed Head of State and we are enormously proud of what she has achieved since completing her Masters in Education and Curriculum at the UoS in 1998.
