Abstract: Given the current socio-political climate, understanding the unique challenges faced by Muslim students, who represent just over 10% of the UK student population, is more pressing than ever.

In this session, Maisha examines the growing disparities in access, success, and progression faced by Muslim students in higher education. She also underscores their exclusion from sector policies and regulatory oversight, shedding light on the broader implications of this oversight.

In highlighting these issues, colleagues will be encouraged to discuss their own practice and/or barriers in engaging with Muslim students, whilst also raising avenues for positive change and action at the University.
