There is just one week remaining to nominate a colleague or team for this year’s Vice-Chancellor’s Awards. ?Nominations are open until?Friday 9 May?– why not try to find a few moments today to shine a spotlight on a colleague’s work???
Why should I make a nomination???
By making a nomination, you enable us to share the day-to-day excellence that embodies our community, and ensure the teams and individuals delivering exceptional work are recognised and celebrated for all they do.? Winning an award can also lead to new collaborations and engagement both within the University and more widely, too.? ?
Professor Sir Stephen Holgate (Professor of Immunopharmacology) was part of a winning team in 2023, and said:
“As the Natasha Allergy Team, in 2023, we were so fortunate to be selected for a Triple Helix Award. What is such a pleasure is that these awards recognise the combined talents of the whole team with the knowledge that the added value by working together is far greater than the sum of the individual contributions. The awards also recognise the importance of human values and interactions which make all the difference in any working environment.”

What should I write???
Tell us what they have done, how they have done it, and why this has had a positive impact on the University community. Try to focus on achievements since May 2024.??
If possible, try to include data?to back up statements. If you’re finding it difficult to source this information, you could speak to the individual/team’s line manager(s).??
Take a look at our past?Awards brochures?to read previous nominations and get an idea of what the panel are looking for.?Think about how the individual or team enhances people’s work lives and/or the University, and remember that exceptional day-to-day work can be just as important as higher profile achievements or projects.?
