Whether you are a new student looking to find out more about University learning and how to best prepare, or you just want to freshen up your skills for the year ahead, there are various resources available to help you. ?
- The Academic Skills Hub is a great place to explore before your teaching sessions begin – it hosts a variety of resources focused on enhancing skills such as critical thinking, academic writing, time management, among many others. ?
- The Library Research Skills Service might also come in handy, as it includes lots of information on finding and managing information, as well as guidance on citing and referencing that you will need for your assignments. ?

If you are a new student, we strongly recommend that you also complete your induction module on Blackboard before the start of your course: ?

Managing your finances
- If you are expecting a tuition fee loan or a maintenance loan through Student Finance (UK), make sure you check if your funding has been confirmed for the 2025/26 academic year. You can contact?The Student Hub?if you have any concerns, delays, or unexpected changes in your situation.???
- To make sure your money lasts regardless of your type of funding, the best thing you can do is create a spending plan.?Visit the financial wellbeing and support page to access the useful budget sheet.??
