Colleagues are invited to contribute to the Strategic Research Equipment and Infrastructure Pipeline if they have an equipment need (value above ?25k) they wish to have considered for a managed equipment funding opportunity or internal funding (School/Faculty or MULSER). [Please note that MULSER funding will typically be used exclusively to leverage external funding, except in exceptional circumstances.]

There are two upcoming deadlines in September:

• Wednesday, 3 September 2025 – EPSRC Strategic Infrastructure – Winter 2025 Research Council deadline

Researchers/Technicians intending to apply to this Research Council equipment call should submit an Expression of Interest via the Equipment Request form before the deadline.

• Wednesday, 30 September 2025 – General Pipeline submission deadline

Submit an Equipment Request form before the deadline.

Please note, if you have previously submitted your equipment request, please do not resubmit it. Instead, please send revisions and/or additions to resinitiatives@soton.ac.uk? and we will reconcile them with your original request.

You can check on the status of your submission by viewing our All-User Dashboard (you will need to request access if you have not already done so, and it will be granted promptly).

Key points for a Pipeline submission:

• The Pipeline is open to research and technical staff interested in applying to managed equipment funding calls or seeking institutional support (School/Faculty or MULSER).
• Requests for equipment exceeding ?25k can be submitted at any time.
• Equipment requests remain active in the repository for a period of up to three years.
