Understanding Professional Bodies Supervision and the Path to Audit Qualification

Rhiannon Soper, Project Manager - Qualifications and Learning, ?from the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) made a presentation on 'Understanding Professional Bodies Supervision and the Path to Audit Qualification' on 12th March 2025.

With a wealth of experience in accounting education and professional standard, Rhiannon brings her expertise from her role at FRC, where she has been part of the Professional Bodies Supervision team since 2022. She has ten years of teaching experience in audit, ethics, governance, and accounting, and has worked as an examiner for ICAEW and CIPFA. ?Her career span technical role at CIPFA, and she began her journey in the Audit Commission, specialising in local government and NHS audits.

Her presentation highlighted:

• The role of Recognised Qualifying Bodies (RQB).
• The impact of Companies Act requirements on accounting qualification (ICAEW, ACCA, ICAI, ICAS, CIPFA and AIA).
• How these qualification leads to Audit Qualification.
