Lecturer Nuria Garcia-Araez has been named the best young Spanish electrochemist by the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry. The prize recognises her outstanding academic career in electrochemistry and her most recent work to improve the performance of lithium batteries in electric cars.
“I was delighted to win the award against competition from many other electrochemists,” she says. “It is also a tribute to our work in this exciting field at 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载 where we are now exploring lithium-air and lithium-sulphur batteries and lithium recycling.”
Nuria joined the University of 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载 in 2012 from the Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland where her research centred on lithium-air batteries. She studied for her undergraduate and PhD degrees at the University of Alicante in Spain.
