The Finance Department has more than 196 staff working across five campuses of the University, with staff based in twenty buildings in order to be close to faculty staff.

We provide a range of services to the University, our staff and students including in 2011/13:

• Payroll for 6,400 staff, 1,200 casual employees monthly and 1,300 pensioners
• Pensions administration? for? 5,790 members of seven pension schemes,
• Payments to 32,000 payees including? 5,000 suppliers,
• Income collection of ?83m commercial income,
• Student fees administration for 21,000students, ?153m tuition fees and ?23.5m residences income
• Management and financial accountancy including the production of the university budget, regular management accounts and the published financial statements
• Research grant administrations from costing to close down for 2,200 active grants with over 1,500 applications made in 2012/13

• Treasury management of ?140m cash, Procurement with savings for the university of ?1.5m in 2012/13
