The Human Factors Research Unit offers various services related to human responses to vibration. We see patients in our clinic to assess the hand-arm vibration syndrome. We tests seats and gloves to assess what effects they have on human exposures to vibration. We measure exposures to hand-transmitted vibration and whole-body vibration to assess the likely effects on comfort, performance, or health.
Seat Testing
The?HFRU Laboratory performs tests on seats for various vehicle and seat manufacturers.
Glove Testing
The?HFRU laboratory conducts tests on anti-vibration gloves in accord with standards.
Occupational exposures
The HFRU performs laboratory and on-site tests of vibratory tools in accord with standards.
