Overview:

This project fosters thinking about how academics and charities might collaborate better, in order to achieve progressive change. It is motivated by three central questions: 1. What is working well in academic/voluntary sector partnerships? 2. What barriers exist to better collaboration? 3. What positive changes could realistically occur? The project takes as its central focus the issues of women¡¯s criminalisation and imprisonment, and violence against women and girls. This provides a clear central focus (and on an important set of issues in their own right), while inviting insights that will be applicable to many other areas of criminal justice.

Anticipated policy impacts:

This project is designed to achieve a number of impacts, which include: * stimulate questions and debate within and across academic and third sector communities * contribute to developing and maintaining a coherent community of progressive criminal justice stakeholders * generate proposals for positive, actionable, change.

Outputs:

The project will result in policy briefings, Open Access journal articles, and public interventions through blogs and social media activity.
