Nutritional Intervention Preconception and during Pregnancy to maintain healthy glucosE metabolism and offspRing health (NiPPeR)
The NiPPeR study has involved 1,729 women from the UK, New Zealand and Singapore who were planning pregnancy. It is one of the largest international preconception randomised controlled trials of its type.
The NiPPeR study involves researchers in 天发娱乐棋牌_天发娱乐APP-官网|下载, Singapore and New Zealand from the EpiGen Global Research Consortium. They have trialled the use of a combination of nutrients and probiotics before and during pregnancy to improve the health of mothers and their children.
The NiPPeR multinational study is one the largest nutritional intervention studies in women during preconception and pregnancy.
Important insights have been emerging from the study. The EpiGen researchers continue to follow up the children, with an exciting new visit at age 6-8 years. We want to see if the benefits for the children are maintained into early school years and if better recommendations about the mother’s nutrition before and during pregnancy can support the children’s health, wellbeing and ability to learn.
