Eligibility
To get this scholarship you must:?
- be a Chinese citizen whose residency is in China who would be eligible to pay the overseas tuition fee
- have a conditional or unconditional offer to study any in-person, full-time, postgraduate master’s programme
- achieve a first-class honours degree or an equivalent qualification in your undergraduate studies at a tier A or B university
- pay your tuition fee deposit by Thursday 15 January 2026
As there are a limited number of these scholarships, they will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. The first 150 applicants who meet the listed eligibility conditions, including payment of their tuition fee deposit by 15 January 2026, will be awarded the scholarship.
We determine residency as where you have been living for a 3-year period or longer before the start of the course.
This does not include where you are living for study purposes, if it is somewhere different from your place of permanent residency.
Conditions of getting the scholarship
The ?5,000 is available as a tuition fee reduction on the first year of study.
If you are already in receipt of a scholarship award from us or you become eligible for another scholarship award from us, we will apply 50% of the value of the Excellence Scholarship award.
